Sensex, Nifty hit new record highs in dull stock market trading; Axis Bank gains 2%, Tata Steel falls 3%

Share Market Today: Indian stock markets (Sensex and Nifty) ended flat on Tuesday with declining issues outnumbering the advancing ones on BSE while Sensex, Nifty managing to finish at new record highs with Axis Bank up 2% and Tata Steel down 3%. Indian stock markets traded flat in the afternoon deals on Tuesday following cautious trading activity amid the global markets. Indian equity markets turned choppy after hitting fresh record highs in the early morning session today.

Shares of Kajaria Ceramics, CESC were the top gainers while HDIL, Redington, DLF were the top losers amid the ‘A’ group of BSE. Indian shares started higher on Tuesday with BSE Sensex breaching 38,400 for the first time ever and NSE Nifty hitting a fresh record high at 11,581.75. The domestic share markets fell off from the day’s top within minutes of trading following the subdued global cues as worries remain over trade tariff muddle between US and China.
